Training Our model of training Evidence-based training The development of PROMPT (Practical Obstetric Multi-Professional Training) led initially to the publication of the PROMPT ‘Course in a Box’, which in January 2017 saw the launch of its 3rd edition. In 2021 PROMPT released its new package with the launch of the first Annual Update (2021), with the second package in this 3-year Annual Update series planned for late 2022. This brings the course right up-to-date with all the latest evidence, including modules on: Annual Update 2021 Impacted Fetal Head Postpartum Haemorrhage Maternal Sepsis Shoulder Dystocia Severe Hypertension & Eclampsia Vaginal Breech Birth Annual Update 2022 Anaesthetic Emergencies Uterine Rupture Maternal Collapse & Cardiac Arrest Antepartum Haemorrhage Cord Prolapse Community PROMPT National recommendations for multi-professional obstetrics emergencies training for all maternity staff in the UK (National Maternity Review 2016), coupled with data demonstrating improved outcomes for mothers and babies, has led to PROMPT being adopted by most units in the UK. Since 2021, PROMPT's training has been delivered as an annually updated course, allowing units to keep right up-to-date with the latest national guidance and emerging evidence.
